Privacy Policy
This Privacy Statement sets forth the information gathering, use, and dissemination practices of My Canadian Pharmacy (“MCP”) in connection with this Site. This Privacy Statement addresses MCP’s practices regarding information collected only directly through or from the Site – it does not address or govern any information gathering, use, or dissemination practices related to information collected other than directly through or from the Site, including, without limitation, from or via telephone, facsimile, postal mail, personal delivery, or other or additional offline means or media. Collection of Personal Information From Users
MCP may collect and track: (a) Visitor-Supplied Information – When you voluntarily provide information on the Site, such as requesting more information from MCP through our input fields on the Site, we may ask you to supply certain information, such as your name, address and e-mail address; (b) Server Log Information – When you visit an Internet website, certain information is disclosed to us about you, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the time of your visit, and the referring location (e.g., the Site or page that offered a link to a MCP page); (c) Statistical Data – In order to solve technical problems with the Site, calculate overall usage statistics, and learn other information we collect aggregate information on which pages you access; and (d) Cookies – In order to offer and provide a customized, personal service, MCP may use cookies and other related technology to store and help track your information. Internet “cookies” save data about individual users, such as your name, password, screen preferences, and the pages of the Site which you viewed. When you revisit the Site, MCP may recognize you by the Internet cookie and customize your experience accordingly. You may decline Internet cookies, if any, by using the appropriate feature of your Web client software, if available.
Use of Information Collected
Personal data collected by MCP may be used by MCP for many reasons, for example, for editorial and feedback purposes, for marketing and promotional purposes, such as to deliver advertisements and promotions targeted to our users’ interests, for a statistical analysis of users’ behavior, for product development, for content improvement, to contact a user, or to customize the content and layout of the Site. Individually identifying information, such as names, postal and e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information which users voluntarily provide to MCP may be added to MCP’s databases and used for future calls, mailings, and other communications regarding Site updates, new products and services, upcoming events and other business purposes of MCP. MCP may disclose or distribute identifiable or non-identifiable information (a) to another entity with which MCP enters or reasonably may enter into a corporate transaction, such as, for example, a merger, consolidation, acquisition or asset purchase; (b) to a third party pursuant to a subpoena, court order or other form of legal process or in response to a request by or on behalf of any local, state, federal or other government agency, department or body, whether or not pursuant to a subpoena, court order or other form of legal process; (c) to a third party if determined by MCP in its sole judgment that such disclosure is appropriate to protect the life, health, property or other interest of MCP or any other person or entity or (d) as necessary to third parties under contract with MCP to improve and provide services associated with the Site. In situations involving bankruptcy or insolvency, the database containing personal data may be treated as an asset of MCP. Identifiable and non-identifiable visitor information and data which visitors provide to MCP also may be provided to third parties that provide products, information, or services which MCP believes that visitors may be interested in directly or indirectly purchasing or obtaining.
While MCP may undertake efforts to see that another party to which MCP shares personal information is under a contractual obligation to use the personal information solely for the purposes for which the information was disclosed by MCP, MCP exercises no control over such parties and MCP is not responsible for their conduct, actions, omissions, or information handling or dissemination practices. The collection, use, and disclosure of personally identifiable information discussed in this Privacy Statement may involve a transfer of the information to jurisdictions located outside your country or residence and which may not have equivalent laws and rules regarding privacy and data protection.
Access to Personal Data and Choice/Opt-Out
Upon your request via postal mail or e-mail, MCP will provide you with a summary of any of your personally identifiable information, which information has been voluntarily provided to MCP through an input field or other form on or via the Site and which information is retained by MCP. Should you wish to modify, correct, change, or update any of the information you supply on or via the Site, you should contact MCP at corporate.information@jhppharma.com or at the postal address set forth in this Privacy Statement.
Except as necessary for MCP to provide the services, information or products requested by a user of the Site, or except for the disclosures identified in the preceding Section REF _Ref216583442 \r \h \* MERGEFORMAT 3 titled Disclosure of Information, a user may opt out of having his or her personally identifiable information, which has been voluntarily provided to MCP through or from the Site, prospectively retained by MCP, used by MCP for secondary purposes, or disclosed by MCP to third parties, by contacting MCP via postal mail at the address set out above or at the following e-mail address: corporate.information@jhppharma.com. Once MCP has implemented the user’s request, MCP will prospectively cease retaining, using for secondary purposes, or disclosing to third parties the personally identifiable information identified by the user in his or her request, to the extent directed in the request. (This does not apply to collection of the type of Web browser of the user to the Site or to information provided or collected that does not meet the above description.)
Third Party Materials
The Site may contain links to other websites, advertisements for or placed by third parties, and products or services provided by third party business development partners. MCP is not responsible for the privacy practices of such websites, advertisers, or third parties, the products or services provided, or for the content of such websites or advertisements. It is possible that these portions of the Site, links, or advertisements, themselves, may be used by third parties or others to collect personal or other information about users of the Site. Often, these companies employ cookie and 1×1 pixel/Web bug technology to collect and use anonymous information about users’ visits to such website and other websites to track the performance of an ad program. It is solely the users’ obligation to review and understand the privacy practices and policies of these other websites and of these advertisers and third parties. A user may be able to stop an advertiser from employing cookies on your computer, by opting out at the Network Advertising Initiative’s (NAI) website, which is available at: www.networkadvertising.org.
Security
MCP has implemented physical, electronic and procedural security safeguards to protect against the unauthorized release of or access to personal information. However, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to or from MCP via the Site cannot be guaranteed. Accordingly, MCP is not responsible for the security of information transmitted via the Internet. Instead of communicating with MCP via e-mail or the Internet, users can contact MCP by mail, phone or facsimile at the address or numbers set forth at the beginning of this Privacy Statement.
Privacy of Children
The Site is not intended for children under the age of 13. It does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information online from visitors in this age group. Where requests for information about a medication are permitted by law, individuals requesting information about a medication that is indicated for use in children must be 18 years of age or older.
Changes and Updates
MCP may change this Privacy Statement at any time. Notice of any new or revised Privacy Statement, as well as the location of the new or revised statement, will be posted on the Site for at least sixty (60) days after the change. It is the obligation of users visiting the Site before the change to learn of changes to the Privacy Statement since their last visit. Any change to this Privacy Statement shall be effective as to any user who has visited the Site before the change was made.
