MCP manufactures and sells brand aseptic injectable pharmaceuticals in hospital and clinical settings and provides contract manufacturing services for global pharmaceutical companies. MCP’s own product portfolio includes leading diagnostic, women’s health and anesthesia products.

All products have a long track record of “gold standard” service and are at or near the front line of treatment in their therapeutic indications. Contract manufactured products include some of the leading global biologic products which involve liquid, lyophilized and suspension presentations.

Position Summary:

The Director of National Accounts will serve as the lead point of contact for account management activities within assigned accounts. The position is responsible for obtaining and managing profitable business for MCP’s products. It will also lead all contracting efforts for each product. In addition, the position will be responsible for developing business relationships with appropriate individuals within the accounts to meet the business needs of the account and MCP. The position will be responsible for developing, managing and executing account business plans that deliver on the described requirements.

Key account responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs)

  • Analyze and understand the overall healthcare environment, the specific account business, and align MCP’s priorities to create Account Plans that contribute to the overall business results.
  • Develop and grow business partnerships within the assigned accounts to secure product awards and achieve performance goals within each account.
  • Develop business relationships with key members in each account.
  • Monitor progress within accounts and take and/or evolve actions as appropriate (monitor contacts, Plan execution, value, profit, volume growth, market share, etc.).
  • Negotiate and manage product rebate agreements directly with assigned account.
  • Review and analyze contracted product performance and communicate account performance broadly with key internal teams.
  • Develop a strong alliance with Sales and Marketing to ensure the appropriate level of cross-functional support and for developing and executing pull-through strategies.
  • Adhere to relevant regulatory and compliance guidelines and Company policies.

Qualifications: Education / Qualifications / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Director of National Accounts calling upon IDNs is required.
  • Experience selling to national IDNs.
  • Proven track record of sales success.
  • Positive existing relations with executives at IDNs.
  • This position will be field based and will require up to 60% overnight travel.
